Warm days in May

The water is still around 19 degrees and there's plenty of life out at the Knights - the stingrays are cruising around, John Dory are patrolling the sand and Nudibranchs cover the walls.

A couple of weekends out at the Knights have been full of fantastic diving. Northern Arch had great visibility - starting to get up to those winter days when the top is clear from the bottom. Stuffed full of Golden Snapper, Maomao and Demoiselle. The walls are full of colourful anemones, sponges and soft corals, providing a feast for all the Nudibranchs crawling along them.

At Middle Arch the night dives uncovered some more Janolus Ignis and the Clown Nudis seems to be coming back in larger numbers. Morays are free swimming through the kelp and seem to be everywhere.

After a few months of absence there are John Dory on quite a few dives - especially along the sand line in Maroro Bay (an also in Calypso Bay). Schools of Koheru lingered with the Snapper and Demoiselle under the boat, which provide a great start and end to the dive. The Scorpion fish appear to be getting bigger on each dive.

The vis should be getting even better and lets hope the temperature keeps up.
