Last of the Roboastra
On the other hand we also saw a Gem on the wall by Ocolina Point, and I hadn't seen one of those for a fair few months! The seasons change and the underwater world changes too. Still a few stingrays about, but not quite on every dive as they were a month or two ago. Then again the Demoiselle are schooling in Long Cave, which makes it an even better dive than in the summer, especially when you find the nests of Crays in the back or the crack. I think I saw the biggest and the smallest Crays (at the Knights) I ever seen on the same dive - interesting that the smallest gets a mention!!
Plenty of Morays around and saw all bar the Mottled on one dive. We had a 'Happy Couple' of Speckled entwined on the wall just outside Crystal Cave. The John Dory were still hanging out in the Gardens and loads of Cadlina Willani on the rocks. Clowns too seem to be gaining in numbers again. Pink Maomao were impressive as a school cruised by at Ocolina Point and their Blue cousins made an entrance half way along Long Cave.
Also, good to note that the 'Tambja Thinstripe' now has a proper name: Tambja tenuilineata : HURRAH :)
All in all plenty of action still at the Knights and our trip home was rounded off with an incredible aerial display by some common dolphins - leaping 2-3m out of the waves just by the harbour entrance (thought they were going to jump into the boat at one point).
Water temp still 18 degrees and visibility around 20m
