Back in the water
The forecast for Thursday was good, so we met for a casual start in the morning and after getting the gear on board we headed over to the Knights. There was a tiny bit of swell, so we chose Northern Arch as our dive site. The water looked blue and we entered as 3 buddy pairs.
Mary and Herb managed to circumnavigate the arch and came across a huge school of Snapper out at the point. The archway itself was full of fish - golden snapper, trevally, Maomao just to name a few.
Noel took his camera out for a change and busy snapping a moray almost missed the carpet shark right below him! Further along the wall they came across a lobster so desperate to have his photo taken that he was climbing over a scorpion fish - who didn't seem that bothered.
Kent and I hung in the arch for a while (I never get bored of just hanging with the fishes!!) and then made our way along the wall to the small cave. A couple of yellow banded perch and a huge red cod were hiding in the back among the school of Big Eye. A juvenile Diadema is still lurking on the cave floor and makes for some striking reds among the darkness.
Kent decided that the sun was too hot and the water too blue to miss out on a quick dip - remember that the water temp is still only 15 degrees!!
