February at The Poor Knights
The water took a while to warm up this year, but finally an easterly came along in Feb and the waters warmed up to 20-21 degrees and some clear blue water too. The waters also brought in some Manta Rays across the islands and a few whales in the deeper water. Fish life has been really good all summer, but somehow the warmer conditions seem to bring out even more. Suddenly Mosaic Morays are to be seen on most dives, there are lots of Eagle Rays around the sandier spots.
In the macro world there was still plenty of stuff to see - the usual Nudibranchs are still all around and on the last day of the month an old friend returned - the Roboastra!! The tsunami reminded us that we are all at nature's mercy and we send our best wishes to those affected.
Check out our calendar for availability in March and beyond and look forward to diving with you all soon.
