Return to The Pinnacles

It's been a little while since we've got a dive in at The Pinnacles and are the sharks just teasing us?

Tie-Dye Arch at The Pinnacles is always one of The Poor Knights diving highlights, but recent weather/swell means that we haven't got to dive it as often as we would like. On Saturday the winds were soft and the swell gentle, so off we went. A liitle chop remained, but easily diveable. Neil and his guys went down and had a great dive. A bit of current meant that the Arch was packed with fish and still plenty of Ray cruising abou the place. They even reckon they saw a Striped Boarfish!? They were doing some training so the fun couldn't last all dive. Still fantastic though and worth the odd ripple.

Hideaway Bay for some Trevally spotting and more big rays. Blue Maomao for dive 3 and the night dive. A bit of current made the day dive interesting, but with a drop-off from the RIB it turned into a fun drift dive along the channel.

From Poor Knights Live

On our way to Cream Gardens the next morning we spotted a shark cruising along the surface just before Barren Arch - woohoo, maybe they'll be outin force. Sadly no, but they are coming!! Fantastic dive anyway with some good vis on the wall and schooling Pink Maomao at the point. We finished a chilled couple of days in Cave Bay. The wall had a pretty strong, and cold, current running over/across/down it. The Rays, Kingies and Trevally were loving it!!

Still 20C and 15-20m vis depending on site.
